The Policy Open Comment Period is a mechanism that provides the Georgia Tech campus community an opportunity to have a voice in the policy process on newly proposed Institute policies and when substantial changes are made to existing Institute policies. Two policies are being made available for comment. You may send comments via email to the respective policy contact (found within the policy) or Kelly Cross, the Institute Policy Manager at kelly.cross@gatech.edu. Due to layout changes only clean copies of the policies are attached. If you would like a redlined copy, please email kelly.cross@gatech.edu.

The policies will be available for comment until April 7, 2023.

Updated - Departmental Sales and Services (DSS) Policy
This policy is being updated to address changes as a result of the implementation of Workday at Georgia Tech in FY2020, and now includes the appropriate terminology referring to Revenue Categories, Balancing Units, and Worktags instead of terms related to the previous Financial System. This Policy remains in alignment with the USG policy requirements for Departmental Sales and Services funds and includes information on the Georgia Tech Financial Reporting standards required to maintain compliance with the USG policy. The current version of the policy can be found here: https://policylibrary.gatech.edu/business-finance/departmental-sales-and-services-dss

Updated - Employment of Foreign Nationals
This policy outlines the requirements for hiring foreign nationals (excluding student employees) and the requirements for filing nonimmigrant petitions for temporary employment of foreign nationals and permanent residency requests for permanent employees. This policy has been updated to allow Global HR to file nonimmigrant petitions for eligible staff positions and remove extraneous information.
