The Policy Open Comment Period is a mechanism that provides the Georgia Tech campus community an opportunity to have a voice in the policy process on newly proposed Institute policies and when substantial changes are made to existing Institute policies. There are currently three new policies open for comment until December 15, 2023. Scroll for copies of the policies.


New - Business Continuity Policy: This new policy outlines requirements for continuity planning for identified units.  Business Continuity plans support the ability of the Institute to be as resilient as possible to incidents/interruptions.  All identified units will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and exercising their continuity plans on an annual basis. This policy outlines responsibilities for the Office of Emergency Management, and individual units regarding plan development/maintenance as well as how the Office of Emergency Management will support units throughout planning efforts.

New - Professional Licenses, Certifications, and Specialized Training Policy: This new policy is designed to formalize current guidance for processing payments and reimbursements for professional licenses, certifications, and specialized training.  The purpose of the policy is to outline requirements and provide resources to campus finance, accounting, and administrative staff members to ensure expenses are allowable and the funding source is appropriate.

New - Professional Memberships Policy: This new policy is designed to formalize current guidance for processing payments and reimbursements for individual and institutional professional memberships.  The purpose of the policy is to outline requirements and provide resources to campus finance, accounting, and administrative staff members to ensure expenses are allowable and the funding source is appropriate.
