The Policy Open Comment Period is a mechanism that provides the Georgia Tech campus community an opportunity to have a voice in the policy process on newly proposed Institute policies and when substantial changes are made to existing Institute policies. You may submit comments via this Open Comment form. If you would like to sign-up for email announcements when policies open for Campus Comment click here.

Two policies available for comment until September 27, 2024

New - Administrative Leave Policy:
The newly proposed Administrative Leave Policy will help to ensure the consistent application of paid administrative leave at Georgia Tech.  This policy outlines what Administrative Leave with pay is, how it may be initiated, and the responsibilities of GTHR, employees, and managers. Administrative Leave with Pay is not a disciplinary action and is a temporary status to ensure the health or safety of students, employees, or other individuals, allow time for an investigation or review by the Institute, or any other conduct that the Institute in its sole discretion requires temporary removal of an employee from the campus community or workplace. This policy will support consistent application of administrative leave and does not represent a change in processes, but rather articulates the reasons under which administrative leave may be implemented.

New - Fitness for Duty Policy:
The newly proposed Fitness for Duty Policy will help to ensure that employees are fit for duty while also respecting employee privacy. This policy outlines procedures to support Georgia Tech’s commitment to a safe workplace for all members of the Georgia Tech community. In addition, this policy will prescribe the circumstances under which an employee may be referred for a fitness for duty examination.
