2.6.16 Post Tenure Review Appeals Committee
Members
The Faculty Post-Tenure Review Appeals Committee (PTRAC) shall consist of eight tenured (8) members elected by the Institute’s academic tenured faculty. There shall be one member elected by faculty vote from each College and one member elected at-large. Annually, the PTRAC shall elect its own chair.
Duties
The PTRAC shall concern itself only with appeals from post-tenure reviews (PTR) and corrective post-tenure reviews (CPTR). The committee will follow the procedure for hearing post-tenure review appeals as defined in this handbook (Section 3.3.9.4.1 Post-Tenure Review Appeals Committee Operating Policy).
In the event of a faculty appeal of a remedial action of separation from employment resulting from an unsuccessful PTR or CPTR, the PTRAC will select a hearing committee from among its members for the purpose of confirming that due process was followed in reaching the decision of separation from employment . The committee will follow the procedures for a final faculty hearing as defined in this handbook (Section 3.3.9.4.2 Final Faculty Hearing).
